Animal and fish trade is what it is and if the fish is 3-5 inches in 240 gallon is more than enough space for a good while. The end! So back to the topic, yes buy a small aro bro.

Well there you go, now the OP knows how successful this can be - because someone else has done it in an even smaller tank. I'm sure that someone that has raised one in a 125 will be along shortly .........
Im not saying my success will be other ppl success, it wont hurt to try, if they think it wont work then get a bigger tank or rehome the fish. Its all about learning and having the experience right?

The end? lol

But that's not what the OP asked, or implied. No mention of a tank upgrade. The end!

Sure, but if a member here asks for help, or advice, I would like to think that other members will give that person the best advice available. Obviously at the end of the day the OP will do as they choose, no one has a gun to their head. It's just advice.

The original question wasn't what most of you are ranting about. I didn't see him question a 4 foot fish in his tank. Nor most of what's being argued in this thread. Ok!

Back in philippines i grew a silver aro in a 150g and it lived 11 yrs, yeah silver didnt grow 3’ but it was 26”-28” and it live healthy. So i dont see why you cant have a silver in a 8x2x2.
Brave admission, personally I would be to embarrassed to admit that.
Poor freaking fish, thats all I can say. No wonder you think it's OK to house an animal that grows this big in an 8x2x2.

Most of these guys are connected from the start. Depending on the vibe of coarse. Connecting and male bonding in these forums indeed. So at the end of the day whatever the topic is, they will sure run the train with each other literally. I'm done with this thread and do something constructive, like write a book. Glasses will be needed!

Wow thanks for the "original" insight -- I guess you didn't really read the first 2 pages of this thread where most were advising OP it might be ok short term, but not long term, esp. in a comm tank...

You sound like a Walmart aquatic section salesperson but actually I see you're an author -- what's the title of your book, "How to Rant while accusing others of Ranting"?
