But seriously, you know what you feed your fish to raise them and what chemicals you put in the water... do you really wanna eat flakes?[/QUOTE]

Do you want to eat grass when you have a burger?

having been a working homeless person for 6 months without anyone knowing it, there are alternatives to eating your own fish (SELLING THEM) to get more money to buy food that is less expensive than fish. If times are tough for you, yet you're living in a house, then you have one up on me when times were tough for me. I don't think you know what hard times are...you're not their, yet. Most people now a days think by not having a cell phone that they are living in desperate times...get real.

He's not saying he doesn't have the money for food. That's not what this is about. He's saying he doesn't have the money to buy a new tank. So he's deciding between eating them or selling them. I would just sell them, but who cares what he does?

Really the logic of this thread is absurd.

Hes at hard times and can't find money for a new tank.
The logical course of action is to sell the fish to get more money.

but no he doesn't want to do that because hes too attached.
I am not going to give them away or sell them, because I raised them since they were fry.
So instead he chooses to kill/eat them. If this is a serious thread you probably need to find a psychiatrist. The idea of eating a fish you raised isn't crazy. The idea that you care about them too much to part with them, so you decide to kill them is crazy. I would really look in to therapy if you ever have these feeling spill over into a relationship.

I dont mean to come down hard on you but its kinda a sick thought pattern.

AGAIN,
I'm not really struggling, I just don't have any extra money for a tank, i dont NEED any money by selling them, but it always gave me pleasure to imagine eating something I raised for years..so i figured, might as well try it!
Thanks again you guys have had some really great answers,
do you have any recipes??
