oh as for the shiners, i feed the ones in my feeder tank just generic fish flakes. they seem to like them and will readliy tank them in a day or two. and i have to break a new bunch into flake food every week lol

im probably gonna end up bringing the shiners back... im not too sure if i like them. but the sunfish on the other hand are already schooling and have all of their colors out swimming around like they own the place after 2 hours

Pretty sure you cant legally do this. Just use them as bait cut up small to catch some more bullheads. Sounds terrible as they were pets but its the best thing you can do after taking them home

yes i really like the sunfish. mine do the same thing. i had a shiner that big once. i put him in my tank as well. then 10 seconds later, my bass ate him lol

i would use them as bait as well. that is accually what i catch the most cats of any species off of is dead shiners.

so are we still unsure about what species of bullhead this guy is? hes actually pretty active too which is cool. id like to know what temperature to keep these guys at... i might actually do 5 pumpkinseeds, the bullhead, and a jaguar cichlid in a 180 is this a possible combo??

i would keep them at the mid to upper 70's mark. i would say the bullhead is a brown bullhead. here is a pic of mine for refrence.IMG_20130426_221740_960.jpg

Not the jag but the rest could work maybe 5 is pushing it but with the right filtration you should be golden. If you could get a picture of the underbelly of the bullhead and possibly its whiskers this could narrow down the results

i have a 125 with a FX5 on it and it stocking list is as follows, LMB florida Gar, pumpkinseed x2, bluegill?, bullhead. my water parameters are perfect and water is crystal clear. what ever you use, put a metric crap ton of bio media in there. i use the fluval bio rings and am exparementing with some seachem matrix.
