I wouldn't bother with cycle, pretty much a waste of your money in this situation IMO

I'm going to have to second that one, it won't be necessary. Just make sure the ph and temp are the same in both tanks and you should be fine. I would actually be more worried about your larger tank going through another cycle / mini cycle after the move and not having any fish in it for that long of a period of time.

I was thinking of taking the stock from the 25 and putting in the 75 when I set it up at the new place so that there is still some fish in it to keep the bacteria alive or else I have some pure ammonia from when I cycled the tank the first time and I thought of adding a cap of that overnight to possibly keep the bacteria from dying. I am somewhat new to fish keeping so I dont know if that will help of hinder?

I also plan on taking a few buckets of water from the 75 to add to the new one and to keep the filter nedia wet

Why would you keep large fish in a small tank? That's not responsible onwership at all!

Might want to read the whole post.

A 25 gallon is not a problem at all. I have a 10 gallon at my in-laws that I use when visit them because they have great fish stores in their area. I keep the fish in it until I head home. I have kept 9 inch fish for 4-5 days in the 10 gallon until I got it home to put in the 240.

i kept a fully grown RD in a 12 gallon for about 5 year!! =) now i gave it away to my LFS... both of them are in a 180 now !! =)

you should be ok for one night!! but watch out for ur pleco n convict.. other than that, you should be ok.. if i can keep my fully grown for 5 year in a 12 gallon and it grew to make size.. you should be good... =0

they can go in a bag that barely fits and get SHIPPED so why cant they be in a big O' 25g?

think about it.
