i kept a fully grown RD in a 12 gallon for about 5 year!! =) now i gave it away to my LFS... both of them are in a 180 now !! =)

you should be ok for one night!! but watch out for ur pleco n convict.. other than that, you should be ok.. if i can keep my fully grown for 5 year in a 12 gallon and it grew to make size.. you should be good... =0

If you kept a red devil in a 12 gallon for five years you should not be allowed to keep fish, at least large ones. That poor fish.

How would you like to spend five years in a closet? Sure you could survive but how much of a life would you have???

i agree its like jail, but some people can't upgrade and don't know ahead of time how big the fish get:D

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take five years to figure out that it needed a bigger home than a 12 gallon tank. There is no excuse for it, either buy a larger tank, return it to a lfs, or post an ad on a forum or in the paper for a free fish to a good home.

unbelievable, i keep reading and here is someone else who thinks its ok to keep a fish that size in a tank that small...is this some kind of sick joke?

Yes, but not much longer.

how did the move and everything go?

Fail.

Just because it was done doesen't mean it was right. Mostly likely deformed and stunted from being in a tank to small. A 10" Midas in a 20g tank would need the water changed every other day unless you had some "REAL SERIOUS" Filtration on it. Like a 55g Sump.

This statement barely makes since. Starts out with one RD in a 12g and now "both of them are in a 180"? Yet another sad example of poor fish keeping.
