Can inverts that live under the sand, and die cause problems?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm going to do another test and eighter post it today or try again tomorrow. I'm gonna do another large water change...and clean the sand.

Lol fleshy.....I would but I only make $50 a weeks cause worken at uncle's restraunt and I'm in high school lol

Ha ha well someday if I am in New York again maybe. I have been there twice.

Now like my brother says, lets hear about some water parameters.

Current Water Parameters:

-Ammonia 0
-Ph 8.4
-Nitrate less then 40-50 ppm......how is that possible!?
-Nitrite 0

.....why is my tank ok...not good but ok now?...be fore nitrate was blood red a week or two ago....Could me moving all of the rocks in the corner and clean the sand two weeks ago help the hermits eat what ever needed to be eaten?

To inspect your tank. Better have it ready. Ill be there for like 15 days or soemthing. Might be longer. It was originally 17.

L0L, i'm not gna do the 180 :/, i realized id rather put that 1-1.5k towards my first car, ill probably still do a smaller scale tank, but leave the 180 for when i have my own place and source of income

I wouldnt say it was okay, but it is getting better. 20 would be "okay" for me in your situation.

Lets keep up the good work.

Forgive me if this has already been done, but have you tested your tap water for nitrogenous wastes? Maybe that is a source of the problem as well and you will need RO.

Not a bad idea, sounds as if you will be very well prepared for the experience by then.

Hey I notice how my tap water has little nitrates...don't think it's to bad...but maybe If i find a good price on a sump and skimmer I can squeeze in an RO unit....any units you recommend? Also has anyone ever ordered from www.superskimmer.com, I've been waiting a reply email since monday last week. They look pretty reliable prices are a bit high, but I don't know how much is the average sump/skimmer.

Also I'm trying to avoid a DIY project....if anyone is wondering.

I recommend aquaC skimmers. The remora or the urchin would be good for you about $180 on amazon.com. GL
