i think you will be just fine with one...but this is just my opinionMoshmarine;4192183; said:okay, now that I've received some insight on the glass, would a red-bellied pacu do okay in a 300g with a school of SD's if they are the only other fish in the tank? It's a 300g wide by the way (96"L, 30"W, 25"H)
TheFishJunky;4192619; said:yes they can and they have shattered many tanks.Problem is they spook so damn easy.
at least the red bellies do. Try to get a black or green if possible and if you find any of either tell me since I haven't seen any available in a long time lol
sorry I forgot to check back on here. I haven't personally had this happen but a friends has who owns a lfs and he was telling me it has happened to 2 of his customers. He has a 750 gallon tank in his store with 3 of them and he always of course has people begging to take their pacu but he wont because of this.In fact-the red he had was the one who broke his at his house. His whole garage was a tank at one time but no more.I wish I had enough room for a bunch for life.I believe the stories anyway but who knows?matthewkingoftheworld;4192664; said:many of your own tanks??? or people you know??? i just cant see it now. i had a slight slight doubt before but now absolutely zero.
now mine glide through the tank gently, sometimes bumping but no bitting and definitely no flesh being removed
