Can smoking in a house effect a fish tank?

I always find it hilarious when people are worried more about their fish's health than their own. People also care more about what their fish eat and that they are healthy, over their own health. Really baffles me.

It's not that I care more about the fishes health then my own... I know that what I eat and what I put into my body does to me and how it effects me... The fish on the other hand do not... So It's up to me to make sure they are healthy seeing as they don't really have a choice of their own when I myself actually do and chose to eat and smoke or whatever for that matter.

+2 mr matt. Good job. Some ppl will buy a dog. And treat them like patio furniture. Or some ppl will buy a bird and not care a bit tobstudy up on the birds needs. Some ppl will give birth to a child... well... you see ware I am going with that. If u smoke and you have air pumps. I'd guess it can suck the same air and blowbit into the water. Good looking out Matt.

I agree with you, but it makes sense to me. You can hurt yourself and do things that are unhealthy and the only one you hurt is you. But with animals, you're responsible for the life of another living thing. You can make your own choices, but an animal under your care cannot.

I wouldn't think so. I ve been to a few peoples houses where they have had their collections for yearssssss and no issues and they smoke inside. Its good that you think of this though. Some people don't care about what they do to the animals intentional or not.

Yeah I'd rather be safe than sorry and just smoke out on the deck apart from my basement ahaha. Just couldn't imagine it being any good for the fish or any animals in that matter....

i smoke cigs and my fish are fine, infact before i work on my tanks, i have a cig. after my cig i work with my tanks, dont bother washing my hands either. all seem to be doing just fine.

The particles get dissolved in a very large volume of air. Even if you do smoke for years, the particulates get stuck in places closer to the elevated portions of the house. Even if you have an aerator, the chances that a particulate reach your tank without meeting water vapor ejected from your tank and being brought down is very high. Since you do constant water changes plus the fact that there is air stream passing most of the house means travelling particulates get removed from your house quite more often than not.
