Can someone explain to me how 'Animal Lovers' think..?

I am just curious..

I hear all this crying about 'we love our animals!'.. because, afterall, I work in a Pet Store..

but these people who 'love the animals!' are either so stupid or so ignorant, I just don't get it..

Lady comes in with her dumb cocker.. and for SOME REASON she sees -NO PROBLEMS- with letting her dog jump up and violently attack a $600 conure through the glass display.

When I politely ask her to 'STOP HARASSING THE ANIMALS'..

She replies "Oh, does that scare them?"

so....

shes goes around to the other side and does the EXACT same thing to the Guinea Pigs..

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?!?! I wish I could have punched her in the face.

and of course she complained and accused -ME- of being RUDE because I wouldn't let her harass the animals...



but she LOVES animals.. she OWNS a dog.. Birds and Rodents don't count as real animals..

Kind of like consuming canines or felines is absolutely disgusting, but eating beef based products is 'normal'.. H'rm... If animal lovers really love animals, than how can they justify placing one animal below or above the rest? A fly should be the same as a dog, right? If you eat a dog in asia, it's disgusting like eating a cow in america, right? Shouldn't the 'true' animal lovers all be vegetarian..? What about those who get enraged over dog-fighting.. do you get enraged over the hundreds of millions of helpless animals that are slaughtered for food each day? I mean, all animals are defenseless, right?

Wheres the equality?


I was just hoping someone could explain to me why 'animal lovers' can pick and choose which animals really count.. looking for some clarification, I'm confused.

because like everything else in their lives, it only counts when it's convenient or popular. i like animals. i love my dog and my fish. i am not what you would call an animal lover. i say this because i love a good steak and i have no problems pulling out my .22 and taking down a rodent or other varmint that is getting into my garage/house/whatever. so, i agree with you about this lady. she is at best a pet lover, that being her own pet. it stinks that you had a complaint logged against you from this lady. she was obviously a dummy.

I eat animals based on IQ and their emotional complexity.. If I don't think you're a smart animal, have little other use in this world, and eating you doesnt' hurt the enviroment or your species... Then I eat you.

Dogfighting: It's the exploitation of innocent animals that kills me. And the abusive practices it leads to like everything from home ear croppings without anethesia to massive fighting wounds for no other reason than personal enjoyment and possible profit.

well one reason is people cant cuddle up on the sofa with a fly, or take it for walks on a lead, or could you,,hmmm,,,,seriously alot of people keep dogs and cats litterally for company, because this is a lonely world, then others keep fish for relaxing because were all highly strung!!!!
people keeps things like snakes n lizards n scorpions because it will freak people out and we have to be different,,,,,,,
Real animal lovers iam sure would never keep animals in tanks/cages,wouldnt imagine david attingbourugh would have a 3ft fish tank at home, or would he? :hey david or you lurkinh
