Can this be fixed??? Hairline crack on bulkhead hole on a external overflow.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would get a 1/4” thick piece of acrylic to cover the entire inside of the overflow box.
Glue in place
To be extra safe, you could water test to confirm successful seal.
If what’s there is a 2” BH, then a third would be good.
I have 4: 1.5” on my 450

the bottom is not flat because of all the epoxy any recommendations maybe I should dremel it down and sand it and lay it from the inside I have 1/2 inch and 1/4 acrylic you think I should use quater over half? I want to prevent this from happening again.

weld on #40… will take care of any discrepancies inside the box… u can pour it 1/4”+ thick, use a spacer to level it, then slap ur patch piece over top. Ur actually supposed to leave a 1/8” or larger gap to fill when using it to join pieces. If u can get down in there sanding it will work… Clean with nail polish remover without acetone before u glue anything also 💀🤙

I only purchased weld on 4 and 16 do you mean weldon 4?
Nope… #40 is a 2 part glue. Its stronger than 4 and or 16, 16 is actually just #4 with acrylic melted into it for thicker consistency. after looking back at ur pics tho id do as puffers suggested and glue on the outside with what u got. #4 solvent is actually very strong also. For some reason i assumed u were working on an internal overflow 🤦‍♂️💀… much easier fix working on the out side.

U can use the #4 u have first…masking tape ur piece up underneath and inject it into the gap. Kinda shooting blind with black acrylic. Then use the #16 on the outside edges for an extra seal.
U can also just use the 16 it might be easier/less messy but its also a weaker bond. Basically just cover ur patch piece in glue then tape it up under there to dry for a few days before u drill. Its not a structural piece so the 16 should b plenty strong for the job. Either way will work.
