If he is just hanging out at the top or hiding at the bottom when you go near tank, and the water quality, temp, etc is okay then I'd have to say that he needs a bigger tank and is unhappy. Do you put any salt in the tank?

what are you feeding him ?

have you done anything that might have made him afraid of you?

I was feeding him pellets for a whyle but now i am feeding him blood worms now today he is on his side near the top. He also has a yellow under belly and is still twitching his tail and body. I am afraid he will die.

He is in a 33 gallon i have had him for 1 year and i just lately did a quarter tank change and the PH and ammonia levels are normal. His under belly is yellow (albino oscar). And a tank mate is a pucostomus.

That's your problem there... he's a year old and he's in a 33gal how big is he ? 8" 9" or 10" or is he bigger ? 1 Oscar require's the minimum of a 55gal tank with minimum decor.

Get a bigger tank !

Ok if oscars are unhappy they tend to lie on their sides in the corner, he may be needing more oxygen, if he is bigger then 6 inches it may seem that he has a lot of room in his tank, but they need a lot of space and pleanty of water to dilute their waste, as do plecs, even thiugh they clean up the waste food, the poop alot there for the also need a lot of wated,
Sp to solve this get a 55gallon the larger the better, the fish have more room you have to do as many water changes a week, everyone is happy!!

I agree. Due to waste, excess food (which they are sloppy eaters), etc his tank could have gone septic. From what I am hearing (don't quote me on this) I do not think he is suffering from anything that medication will cure. He is agitated, unhappy and not healthy due to his tank size. This will not get any better unless he gets a bigger tank.
