Can you believe this???

Now you're not going to believe this. I have the day off to recover from the Red Sox/Rangers shoot out last night at Fenway Park. So I decide to go down to the electrical company to complete my paperwork (I needed some receipts or proof of costs for the fish - luckily my LFS hooked me up). When I returned, I checked out my 135g tank because my Dempseys were concerning me. (When the power had gotten put back on, I had noticed that the two Dempseys were acting very aggressive (which was unusual for them) and they both had completely lost their vibrant color and were now almost all black with bright white bands across their top.)

When I looked into the 135, what I saw shocked me. The male Dempsey was taking on my Lyonsi (which is at least 3 times bigger than him) and then I noticed that the sand seemed to be moving under the female. When I looked closer, I noticed a ton of fry. The two had mated and I never even noticed!

Before I lost power, the two were acting completely normal and looked completely normal. Apparently humans aren't the only ones that like to make the best of their time during a power outage!

sorry man, typical for utility co's, tho they are not known for hiring the mensa types, next time if it happens just go out to your meter cut the clip remove the meter and remove the plastic boots from the terminals and replace the meter, electricity is now back on.....

I thought about doing that, but there was a huge steel lock on my meter. Sorta remind of those giant boots that police put on cars. I guess they've had enough people doing what you suggested that they came up with heavier duty locks.

Do not give up. Such incompetence needs to be made public and the people responsible need to take the blame.
