Can you eat convict cichlids ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From an eating standpoint they can't be much different than really small tilapia. I wouldn't bother filleting though, just gut and behead them and fry them whole, like the whiting you can buy bone in and frozen.

People eat them all the time in Central America, small ones are fried whole and eaten like chips. They eat mollies and tetras this way too. Eyes, fins, guts, everything. Ken

"I think you can eat almost any fish. But if you eat your convict..... in your next life, you will become a bloodworm and be fed to convicts!!" :ROFL::nilly::ROFL:

I don't understand why this is even a question.
When the zombie apocalypse comes and I barricade myself in my house I will eat my fish without hesitation. Saving the canned goods for as long as I can for good measure. :grinyes:

u can consider it as food but if u have used stress coat or any medication, it will be poisonous for consumption.

Even if you pan fried a con a good two minutes a side they would still be breeding all the way to your large intestines lol

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

If you could establish a viable, breeding population in your intestines you'd never have to eat again!

NovAqua and AmQuel say "safe for aquatic and non-aquatic life" right on the bottles. That's why you should use AmQuel and NovAqua... in case a future emergency comes up.

Like the zombie apocalypse. :nilly:

I've seen that movie. It ends badly. :eek:
