Wow bro, im so sorry for your loss. Possibly some bacterial infection that you dont notice unless you watch the fish for some time.
Ofcourse, there is always a slight possibility of damage done from outside the tank, some toxic material accidently got in, like something to clean the tanks glass.
 
damn.. that's suck bro. Did you test the water after?
 
What the ****! Something had to have gone wrong...maybe working on pipes in the area or something and leeched toxins during WC?

I live by myself and in the last 2 days I did not clean the glass or anything and this tank is in my bedroom where guests would never go. Im sick to my stomach and the weird thing is I decided to sell all my fish before this happened

I did a 5g only water change this morning which I do everyday cause its only a 45g tank

I have to ask about that plant

Check the plant to see if it has any metal in it. Take the base apart with a hammer and see if there is any lead used as a sink material.

I had a tank that started to go wonky, I tore it apart and when I checked the plants the silk leaves had begun to come off and the stems were showing rust. Apparently these tank safe silk plants had a toxic glue used to affix the leaves and the base and stems had metal in them.

but anyways dang sad sight to see
