nice cray !! and yeah these guys get pretty meaty when adult.
il pop up some pics of my male RC when i get home so you can see ! hes about 24cm at the mo and looks like hes preparing to mault again :) :)

Thanks. I would like to see some pics if you want to post them. I think the males get bigger than the females, but not by much. Do you have any fish in with your red claw? I tried putting a pleco in with mine to clean up the tank and it was only a matter of minutes before the pleco became her lunch.

ok will post up some pics when i get back home !
i must say tho that this particular cray is extremely docile and lived in my comunity tank with about 40 small fish till he was about 5" and now has a 4ft tank with just a large plec (the plec is about 10" tho)

i think the trick to getting fish and cray to house together is basic thinking of where they spend most of their time ie cray = bottom so if you were to get some fish in there some mid to top swimmers would be best but its a long shot!

my friend has a female of about the same size as yours and within 3 days had eaten his shoal of minnows ! so its really not advisable to keep them with fish but its down to the individual crature and its temprement !!

females actually get a bit bigger than males and females are more docile and are less likely to kill other fish though its still likely.

Thats good to know, I want my female to get as big as possible. I've decided to dedicate an entire tank to her since I think she will probably eat any other fish I put in with her. Do you have any pics of your 10" males (is that one in your avatar)?? It seems like everywhere I read online they say quads only grow to 8". If you've got some 10" males and females are supposed to get larger than males, then that gives me a little hope that maybe she will grow HUGE.

Sweet. I wish mine had the red spots on her claws like that. I'm startin to think I might have to get mine a boyfriend :D I'd be a little worried they might fight if I added a male though.

Do the girls get the red on their claws, or is it only for the boys?
