Can you identify my hybrid cichlid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As most have stated its a cross between a Red Devil and probably a Jag.
Either way its a beauty. Looks better than a standard red devil and it seems to keep improving its looks as it grows.

It could be a xanthic jaguar maybe? i don't know if they are natural, line bred, or hybrid, but they are very rare and peel like that.
This is a thread that is at least a little fraud on CichlidForum;

Here are threads on MFK about xanthic jags:

In this MFK thread someone has a festae x Jag that looks a lot like it:

Here is a thread in Indonesian that references an MFK thread I don't know about (google translate):

Oddball Oddball or duanes duanes may know.

That fish is awesome! Most of the time its a bummer if you end up with a hybrid when your intentions were to get a certain fish, but in your case, i say you won!

Most deff is an amph. Hybrid of some sort with the peeling.

Hello everyone ,

I bought 5 little jaguar cichlids in 2010. But one of them became dominant and chased others so i returned 4 of his/her siblings and kept it alone. I am still llooking after it. It is 8-9 years old now.When it grows older its colour changed and i realised it was not jaguar cichlid. It was hybrid of jaguar and some cichlid. Here are the pictures of it. Can you identify it?

Sorry for my english :)
