Whats the deal with the caribes?? they don't school?

they do school together but just extremely hard to have them breed in captivity, only couple of people had claimed that they had successfully breed caribas but i don't think they ever had pictures to prove it. piraya is the same story but don't think anyone ever successfully breed any.

I haven't been able to successfully raise them to a significant size.. I've tried breeder nets but it seems like they always become polluted and stagnant no matter what i try. It's also a pain because they tear everything to **** when they breed including each other. I want them GROWING bigger lol

I'm pretty positive I have 3 separate breeding females and for sure 2 males that mate with them. I think the largest dominant male mates with all of them. I'm not sure if my last one is a male or female.

did u try movin the fry to different tanks??

If your piranhas breeding uncontrollably is a problem to you, you can ship them my way. And congrats on the proven pairs. I'm sure you made many people jealous.

Forreal, if the breeding is a bother to you, I am willing to take every single piranha that you cannot take care of or any of the fry. Just lemme know, I'll pay shipping fees.

I'll try to get them up tomorrow... I've found a way to temporarily make them stop by rearranging and cleaning the tank after they have built their nests.

But there is nothing particularly different with my setup.... I've had them about a year and two months now and got them when they were half inch juveniles. This past November they first bred once in a 45 gal tank... then December they moved to a new 75 gallon setup and started breeding like crazy, usually two females laying eggs at a time... an then 2-3 weeks after a birth they would start mating and lay again.... it's been like that since december.

How old are these fish?? I have 6 reds, that I would like to try and breed. Not sure on all the sexes, though.
