Proof of tempting fate/sods law for the non-believers!

Why did this leak happen? Was it because of bad siliconing? Or was it because at the time it started i was taking the clear cover off the paddling pool, was dropping the water level to make fishing easier, and had just taken all the bricks out from under the mechanical filter:screwy:

.............................yep.

Oh, and i did find when putting the slabs in the bottom that the water getting behind the tarp is causing it to want to 'float'. On the plus side it means it's not trying to stretch anymore and objects on the bottom stop it from going anywhere.

Ok 1st of all, i been out all day rumaging in scrap yards as my car fooked up on me, when im finally sort of sorted i get home to see this :WHOA: god damn man how sly is that water creeping out through the gap there :naughty:

Maybe i could help some when i come matey, im quite good at sealing stuff....with duck tape

No seriously i can help, i am really good at it :) i think i know where the prob is............. it is at the window but its leaking through the frame you put in, you know between the frame and the liner !!!!! its very easily solved but 1st needs to be dried thoroughly m8 ;)

If you can wait i will help if not, then you need to seal it from the outside too not just the inside ;) Hmmmmm i here you say, why didnt you think of that before, probably because your getting a lil impatient maybe and whant those monster fish in there !!!!! i know i would ;) Its gona take alot longer than you 1st thought m8

It is a cheeky little gap it's found, it must have suddenly gone when the water was about an inch up the glass. It looks to be at the bottom of the frame rather than the sides as when the water level was dropped the water between the glass and the liner dropped all the way too rather than being stuck there. There is a very suspect looking point at the bottom where there's a break in the white silicone inside the frame. The integrity of the liner-frame seal will be easier to check when the glass is out but as there was no seeping along the bottom edge screw holes or damp patches on the wood before or during the leak then i think that should be ok. Not sure where you're trying to describe with sealing it on the outside as well as the inside:confused:

Most likely problem is the way i put that window in, it was being a pain in the bum before it munched my finger and was why it munched my finger, then didn't look too good when i went back to it later that day to finish off sealing it. It's the only bit i hurried and wasn't careful with when it came to doing these bits of glass.

1 leak down, 5 to go;)

Not viewing this as a failure at all though. The other 2 windows held up fine and have proved the system will work so far. Hope i'll have time on friday to pop problem child window out (makes it sound so easy!:screwy::ROFL:) and take a better look at it.......think i'll wear gloves this time!

Always expected it to take time, i just get bored easily. Originally i was hoping to have it done by Christmas, but didn't specify which year:(

bored easily hmmmm;) gutted huni at least u moved the plugs first tho

Ok m8, you seem to have it all figured out, was just giving my 2 pennies worth as usuall  I still say a seal on the outside where you had your finger showing the water would help lots ( all around each frame should do it)

Its upto you how you tackle it and taking that window out is a good idea and the only place to start i suppose.

Now get cracking, no sleep for you tonight lol we wana see this monster filled and happy fish swiming around ;) :naughty:

You know when the Tarp pulled away when you put water in first time . Maybe same happened with the liner somewhere underneath the tarp . Hope it's not too drastic and you find it easy . Gonna be a killer pond when it's done .
