AQUATOP looks like a rebranded marineland filter. Basically just had the marineland fail on me. Same construction and everything just different color.

if it lasted 10 years it is not a bad filter... more like a good filter...

If you are tight on money get a rena or api xp3... Could do an OK job on a 125(a little on the low side of filtration but not underfiltered imo) i have 1 xp3 on my 120 gallon...

End of the day I don't like canisters. They are a PITA to service and are not as good at filtration as a Solid Sump design. Sumps are so versatile and easy to service if put together properly. Plus the tank water line doesn't drop down and leave mineral deposits.

Lolz, you said that your marineland died on you after 10 years???.

Well 10 years look like a reasonable life span for a canister filter.

I know about canisters that have been working for more than that but if my two Aquatop/Sunsun work well and then die after 10 years after me having paid 90 bucks for the former and 70 for the latter that would be awesome, nothing could beat that.

Why not to get one of them after all???.
