so how does the media work?

like is one rated for 150+ gal gonna blow my fish away?

Depends on a few things. Do your fish like lots of flow? Bettas and gouramis don't so much, but a lot of other fish do.

How you put it back into the tank. A spray bar has lots of holes that won't create much pressure. They will make a moderate amount of turbulence. If it is too much you can always widen the holes. Nozzle outputs will shoot the water out very fast, so a very large filter with a narrowed output might make a bit too much flow.

I would go with the Fluval 405.... I have had fluvals forever it seems, even in my first 15G and they are dependable low on maintanence and keep your water spotless.

Once you buy comparable media for that Fluval it will cost twice what the 2217 does. Not to mention it is only rated for a 100g tank, so what buy two:confused::WHOA::screwy:

If you want to go fluval atleast go with the FX5.
