Can't decide on which Cichlid!

280g is too small for a pair of red terror? then don't stock anything, fish need a swimming space that is as big as a river.
usually, 75g is big enough for a pair of red terror, when you have 280, your pair will have their own territory thus the aggression will minimize. Only worry about aggression, tank size should be enough for any cichlids.

Hi' The pair is going in the 100g or whatever 4x2x2 works out at , in the 280g i want a pair too but bit worried about my rays as i dont want them damaged.

Getting a 5 inch Parachromis friedrichsthalii on wednesday too, this will grow out with the midas and then go into the bigger tank, might try getting a pair of them as well but not too sure about how they will get on with the rays and poly's

His 280 is for his rays...he has a 4x2x2 for the new cichids

I like your idea of putting rays and cichlids together, as I have thought about it too. From what I have heard, rays don't go too well with a lot of these big cichlids. Just do your research for sure on your 280 before putting rays and cichlids together. Cichilds are cheap enough, rays are not.

yup rays are not cheap indeed, i will try it with a single Parachromis friedrichsthalii and see how that go's if it go's good i'll try getting a pair , if there are issues ill just move them on.

I have a pair of green terrors :) I think they would go great with an oscar they have some green terrors in a big tank with a bunch of larger tiger oscars in a local aquarium of mine and they seem to get along great.
