cant get rid of ammonia

check ur water ph and tap water ph. my tank water ph was like around 6.0 and I always have ammonia because at 6.0ph aerobics bacteria cant survive. after I know that I added some crushed coral and made the ph around 7.0 to 7.5 and ammonia is gone.

I've had 6 or lower pH with no ammonia... and I know specifically that some people work on lowering pH for certain fish, so I find that comment interesting...

I also have live plants, though.
