ok i know theres gonna bee some mixed replys here but here goes...
what does everyone think about eating anything thats tank raised, it would really help the problems like"nobody will take my pacu" or "what can i do with my oscars"i say those two becaus they are the typical fish that people try to ditch and they are both really good eating when wild caught.so what do ya think on that situation?good / bad, yes/no? better/worse?

Think about eating something that's been swimming in its own **** for it's entire life...

Yeah I'd eat it too.

The problem is that these fish (my Oscars in this instance) have become like part of the family for me.

It's more a matter of a member of the family than anything else, IMO.

just something to think about....fish meds and processed fish foods are not meant for human consumption so eating fish that have eaten processed fish foods or have been dosed with meds can possibly be harmful.

I wouldn't do it. :)

I think most people state to eat unwanted or problem fish as a joke, but cmon people PLEASE do not eat your aquarium fish.:screwy:
First of all, it is kind of sick minded, especially if you give a crap about any fish you own. Would you eat your unwanted dog?

I wouldn't care to buy a fish, be interested in it's mannerisms and inherant beauty, feed it, treat it for sicknesses, invest in tanks, filters and everything else then turn to eating them when the time comes. Would you?

Secondly, it will make you sick. Aquarium fish will have high levels of all kinds of bad stuff in their flesh...I am sure someone will state some scientific reasons here soon, bottom line for the Average Joe: "Them things is NASTY!":irked:

Lastly, most people joke about "batter em' up!" when someone can't find what to do with a sick or unwanted aquarium fish. These are jokes, I highly doubt they would eat them. Eating your pet aquarium fish and buying fish from a market or catching them yourself is a completely a different story. (If you really do enjoy eating your aquarium raised fish...there must be something really wrong with you, or you are really really hungry.:naughty:
seriously

I also know people who buy cows and pigs and raise them recreationally as pets and eat them.
