WOW you were trin to run it @1 ohm stable?? most amps cant do that too well... i go a little safer @2 ohm just incase cuase when people bring me there stuff i ask them how they want it and the lowest i will usually go is 2ohm unless they have the instruction manual that says its one ohm stable

This was 1ohm stable mono. I had 4 4ohm speakers all parallel and the amp never did stop.

I wouldn't worry myself over the high octane fuel. often cars get better gas mileage off of it anyways.

High compression engines (ex. forced induction) need higher octane fuel for the reasons that were previously mentioned.

Ok, so now that you got it, bring it over. We'll tweak the suspension, upgrade the brakes and mod the blower to get the most out of it. :headbang2

Do you have any documentation to back up that statement? The higher the octane, the less volatile a fuel is, which makes it less prone to detonation (knocking/pinging). That's why you should use the lowest octane fuel recommended for your vehicle or, in the case of older engines that may detonate at their recommended octane due to built-up deposits that effectively decrease combustion chamber volume and increase compression ratio, the lowest octane fuel at which detonation does not occur.

that is true!! my dad gave me a fill up in my bike and it says only use 93 super he put in 87 and my bike ran like crap chugging and stuff so i had to get some octane booster for it then it started to run better and for my sisters scooter i put in 93 cause i thoguht it would run better but it smogs like no other and had a hard time starting... so we use regular for the scooter... in my car i use 93 every now and add in some fuel cleaner which makes the car run alot smoother then i go stright back to 87 and the car slowely gets back to its regular state then i do it again like 4 months after...

LOL He already doesn't particularly care for the mileage!

Get yourself some steelies and snow tires. It makes a world of difference in the winter.

I did a bit of reading and it seems the stock blower is the weak link. Although the M91 can be swapped in.
I wonder what the stock fuel system can handle.

you should have gotten a capacitor cause it puts less stress on the battery and alternator and it makes the system louder cause it drains from the cap which is closer to the actually system... its a good investment!!

o and the problem with buying performace cars is you know they have been abused... same thing with sportbikes... people abuse the crap out of them... and saturn you just bought i would put a for sale sign on it and make money!! cuase i'm a honda/acura fan haha

My new car has the battery in the trunk, which makes things so much easier when i want to mod the stereo. It does have an amp and a 6 speaker stereo, but I really am missing my Infinity Kappas.

I basically took a 90 minute class on fuel online today. It said exactly what you did, the higher compression engines, which is what I have, require the higher octane to prevent detonation. I will definitely be purchasing the high octane gas.

How about you save me some fish to feed at the aquarium some night, then you can check out my ride and test drive it, so you can make any simple mod suggestions. I get what I want, and then I get what I want. Sounds like a fair deal! LOL

Maybe.

Forced induction motors require higher octane fuel due to the nature of the application. Mid grade will cause detonation. That's not something you want to see. It will warn you when you run it with the wrong fuel.....the motor will knock (or tick). I'll have to read up on the Redline quick. Fuel upgrades are simple when you start to force more air in. I built my motor from the block up to get well over 100hp per cylinder using an Eaton blower.

I'd love to see your car. I am running strictly 91 or higher octane, per the suggestions. I pulled into a pump today, got out, realized there was no premium fuel, and drove away. I am going to protect my investment.
