Caring for eggs for red texas * blood parrot

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had to leave my house because i kept checking on the eggs lol.. I stuck a piece of blue poster board all away around the tank and turned off the lights maybe they wont be so stressed in case of shadows and such.

The red Texas looks exactly like my green Texas cichlids. Except when my green Texas's mated they were black and gray. The other looks just like a Midas. Red eyes and all...

eggs were eaten? Are all the males sterile? Can yall sex the fish for me?

Not all male RT are sterile and I know yours has fertile siblings. Sometimes it takes a few tries but it is possible its sterile. Next time I would either separate the parents from the eggs or move the eggs to a new tank. If move them make sure they are in the same water as the parent tank so you don't shock them.

I have some more red texas how can you tell if they are fertile? I also have one that is faded it like a pink with some black dots can it be fertile. The only down size is the brothers and sisters are way smaller
