Caring for eggs for red texas * blood parrot

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
firstly i wont keep my tank so dirty if i m planning to breed(or is the pic bad?)
2ndly there is no possible way to find out about the fertility unless its fails 2-3 times at maturity...........also some fish take time depending on a number of factors!!!

for breeding you need to research first then breed but u doing the other way.......started your project and then looking for info......or was it just accidental?

The dirt is from the female pooing under the rock formation/cave I had ,But the tank is cleaned now . I could clean it because there were eggs. The other stuff was air bubles swishing around the tank. One day I decided I was gonna Breed super or red texas and The next day I ordered them. What size tank do you guys breed your red texas in? I find everything on the interent dis organized and the ony results are porn. Its much easy for me to ask questions and experience people to help. Isn't that was this forum was for to ask questions and to get answers about hybrids and flowerhorn crosses? Im tired of people on the forum getting mad at people just learning. When you first learned about fish I bet you bought a fish and didnt cycle your tank? Everyone did when your learning a trade a hobby or anything you first learn from mistakes and then other people. People get experienced in a hobby they become arrogant to amateurs questions.

Be courteous to others
Sam

Hey Sam, try posting all your questions on one post. I'm not trying to be rude, it's just you have so many questions it's kinda overwhelming. Your RT is a male from the looks of it. Theres no way you can tell if it's fertile or not without breeding it. Let them try again.

To answer your question, not all male RT are sterile. Cjbarth's fish are proof of that. However, when taking male RT as a whole, most are sterile. So just because it came from Cjbarth does not mean it will be fertile. Always assume it is sterile until your breeding attempts prove otherwise.

So what the males are like 99% sterile and cjbatyj went through like 100 of them to find one that was fertile? That sucks. Are the female fertile? Im going take pic of the fish now that I have left.

I think Chris should post on this since their are from his pair and he would have the best knowledge on fertility. Females are usually gonna be fertile, its rarely the case where the female is sterile.
