Carpintis or cyanoguttatus?

I have a 9 inch texas that looks just like this... I guess they mix different texas cichlids like they do devil's and midas's. The color of my tex is the same is this and always has been so its not washed out. The lfs I shop at buys from Seagrest so I would have to agree that these are being bred and distributed by them. I asked the owner of my lfs what was the exact title that was given on the order form and he said it just says texas. Either way they turn out nice... Nice enough that I paired him to my bp for my current rt project!

Do you have a pic of it?

Your Tex looks almost exactly the same color as the one I had. Even the shape is very similar. I have seen still more specimens like that being sold at LFS recently. One of these specimens was at a LFS that orders fish regularly from Seagrest. Maybe this type of Texas is a Seagrest specific strain, unless randomly mixing cyano and carps always result in offspring looking the same. Regardless of lineage, these Texas cichlids are great looking fish.
