Can someone tell me about these? Are they really herbiviorious or what?

Omnivorous I've always believed.

They're very not picky, mine is a pig for anything. Pellets, flake, earthworms, everything. Very undemanding food wise.

Mine also is not picky. Eats Omega One and Hikari Gold, Krill, bloodworms, etc.

Yes not picky at all. Mine will even try to eat all my plastic plants. He gets a diet of Cichlid sticks, Hikari Gold, Krill, earth worms, peas and Zucchini. Oh and not herbivorous mine likes to eat little fishies that aren't meant to be eatin lol. I see more and more threads about Carpinte lately. Are they the new common fish?

Almost any fish will eat smaller fish if given the chance. In the wild, carpintis are omnivores. I've seen videos of them grazing on algae in the wild.

They are similar to JD's in diet. My friend feeds his grapes as a treat and they love them (seedless). Feed them whatever they eat... just experiment with different foods. A varied diet will keep your fish happy. They are not herbivores, but omnivorous.

Yeah I know many fish will. I have never seen a video of wild Carpinte before any names of the videos. I would love to see them!

Thanks I got a trio from my lfs today. I think I have a pair but not sure. Are they easy to breed? I assume they are on the higher end of aggressive. Anyone have any tips on how to sex them? Oh and any suggestions for dithers?
