He's insecure. If he's neutered, that's why they do that. He is insecure about his territory and is spraying to make himself feel safer.

Here's how you fix it.

First use a cleaner specifically for animal odors like urine and clean all affected areas really really well. So there is no sent of urine.
Then:
Get a cloth...rub it all over him. Then rub the cloth over all of the places you think he sprays. This will put his scent all over these spots, but in a way that is not offensive to the human nose.
Then: Glue some cat food onto a small piece of cardboard and place the little food palates by each of the places he sprays.

This will make him more comfortable around the house. The food and his scent will make him feel more secure and he wont be afraid that there is another cat or other animal taking over his home.

If he still sprays an area, clean it again and make sure there is always food right near by. (just the cardboard or paper not a bowl)

I saw this done before and it worked almost instantly to stop the cat from spraying.
Worth a try. You dont have to buy anything except cleaner which you probably already have and its easy.

you can skin it. make some mittens.

ill help. :)

just throw it in a potato sack. tie it up. get a big pot of boiling water and throw the cat in the sack in the pot. simple as that. let it cook for about 15 mins. then take it out. skin it (skin will peel off easily) set it out to dry. you can eat the meat if you like.

Thats discusting... you need help. :irked:

I swear if someone wrote something like that about a dog, this whole site would be up in arms.

I find it offensive as well whether it's a dog, cat or duck... but native is a young kid so to speak, he will learn the error of his ways later on in life.

Playing or not I found that sick, I'm guessing he's a little kid.

Good advice Nekojin, I'm more of a dog person, so I do better giving out info on dog training, but thatnk you for that, now I know how to take care of my cats' problems if they ever happen again.

Never said he was playing.. All I meant is he is younger and obviously hasn't learned yet why such a practice is wrong.. Hopefully he will later, and have remorse if ever doing such acts. But trying to keep this thread on topic and off of whether it's fair to kill animals.

who says i was "playing", or "joking" and who says im a "little kid".

how do you think they cook cats? BOILING WATER! ... so its ok to throw a Lobster in a pot of boiling water but not a cat? thats a little hypocritical.

and no.. i wasn't joking.

and "fair to kill animals"... hmmm.. yes its fair. we have to eat right? do you think there is really a Painless, or humane way of killing? no there isnt. sorry to break it to you.

throw the cat outside and forget about it.

I was agreeing with you ;) lol

nativelover, if you think so little of animals(by saying just throw the cat out), why are you in this hobby? our pets are at our complete mercy all of the time. And no, it's not right to kill anything like that, I have told people quite a few times I wish crabs and lobsters could scream, very few people would still cook them like that while they make all of the noise of something dying in horrible agony.

I'm done here.

Good luck with your cat, I hope you firgure something out, Jason.

it sounds like a territorial issue. if i were you, i would get an extra litter box. make sure you clean them a few times a week (some cats are VERY picky and if their box isnt clean they will on purpose find another spot-) i would then get another food and water bowl and place them in another room- with his litter box. hopefully he will claim them.

if not, he needs to go outside. if getting the new box and bowls wont help then he wont change..

anyone know a cat whisperer? lol

Humane society: If you do that someone else is likely to end up with your problem kitty.

IMO make sure it's spayed/neutered and throw(not literally) it outside..

Don't throw it outside!!! Someone in my neighborhood did that, and now we have a major cat problem.

It's too bad you were serious...

Your lobster analogy is messed up. Do you really value all life equally from protozoa up to primates?

Is launching kittens into a river equally humane as boiling them?

You shouldn't have pets of any kind.
