Maybe try and setup a small ip camera during a 24hr period. See who the culprit is.
This would be the best bet to catch who it is. If it's the same as before I'd leave it in. Gotta remember cats don't have scales so a good grab does damage. But they heal from it good. Hell im not sure if you seen the pictures of my wyckii I had get attacked by my wolf. But I can show you if you'd like.
Well looks like we caught the culprit. I saw a couple of nips and thought id try and catch the bad guy. Screwed up i should have taken it out right away. But atleast i know who it is.
Both pelvic fins, anal fins and maxillary barbel were shedded.
It was the ornate. My son and i just sat and watch for a long time and we caught him in the act. We were thinking it could have been the vulture since its untouched. But we saw why. The vulture is extremely active and any time the ornate got near it would easily avoid it. The jur not soo much. Very lazy and poly like.
I feel like an idiot because you two know that the ornate has been a problem on and off ever since we got it 4 yrs ago and i completely miss judged what was happening in my tank. Hes always had an issue with smaller fish so i assumed the jur was fine since its pretty big.
Anyway at 1st i thought the jur wasnt gonna make it more because of stress than injury but its doing fine and recovering in a 150 gal.
The plan is to get the jur back to 100% put her back in the 300 and the ornate in the 150. If all goes well we'll know it was the ornate the whole time and feel safe with the current stock.
Yet again proud of my boy tho. I left the decision up to him since the ornate is literally his favirote fish but he does have a responsibility to the jur since its also "his" pet too.
If the jur gets attacked again we'll have to rehome it. BUT he said even tho he loves "nigel" (the ornate) he doesnt want his other fish to be around such an agressive poly. Lol he also said im sick of this sh$t dad lmaooo i didnt scold him because so am i but its the nature of the hobby lol
