One of my co-worker's cat got a urine blockage and requires a surgery. The surgey cost like $3k and plus hospitalization too. I know that we are all petlovers but my question is, who among you guys gonna shell out $3000 or more for your pets surgery?

Only if it was covered by my health insurance. as much as i love my pets i simply could not afford to do that. I would try my hardest but i dont think i could.....thats really pricey.

ppl make pets part of there families so they do everthing for there pets.

my first dog i had died and we shelled out like $2000 just to make it easyer but we had him for 12 years bad thing is he picked a hell of a bd time to die and all 2 days before school

He had the cat for like 10 yrs. We told him to put the cat to sleep. He doesn't want too. I know, at a certain point, you become attached to the pets we have. But $3k too much though.

id get attached to it, but 3k is a lot. Urine blockage? try squeezing it.

3k, you could get about a hundred cats, or a sweet huge tank setup.

the only way it'd be even the slightest option if it was a show quality breeder or something, or young with a new life ahead of it.

I would I would, although I think that vet is bsing him b/c my cat had a uti and 2 kidneystones and only charged $500 for surgery and to take everything out and fix it.

I would and I have payed double that to keep the city from putting my dog to sleep. Money should be nothing when it comes to something you love.

If the cat or dog is that old, I would have him/her put to sleep. That is way too much money...If it was a very young animal, I would try to do what I could....but 3k is alot of money when you don't have alot to begin with....
