Hey Pacu Mom- does your cat really like wakeboarding? She looks a little mad. My cats will play in the water left in the tub but won't step in- don't like their feet totally submerged. I have always dreamed of finding a cat that will go in a raft with me on whitewater (I'm a guide and have watched others take their dogs down the river)
She's gone wakeboarding a couple of times with my husband. I don't think she really liked it, so she has "retired" from wakeboarding. My husband, however, would like for her to be a wake surfing cat. Here is our first attempt.
I was driving the boat, so my stepson was manning my camera. He did not know it was on video mode and recording, so a lot of this clip is of the upholstry. My son-in-law, Francois, provides great commentary though.
First Try
Farah jumps ship
Since Steve wasn't actually surfing yet (without the rope), he will have to try again next year. He says he'll put her between his feet so she won't jump off.
Farah is the third silver persian that I have had. The other two cats spent their entire lives waiting for me to come home. When we got this Farah (the others were also named Farah) we determined to take her everywhere with us. She is a good little boater. However, with her long hair she is always very hot, and in 110+ weather she becomes very lethargic. She has to be dipped in the water to cool off. It is kinder to take her out and let her swim back to the boat than to dunk her.
She doesn't like to be put on the board, and she has so much confidence in her swimming, that she will slip off into the water to swim back to the boat. She has gone more places and experienced more things than most cats.
In the winter, she sits/lays in front of our monitor heater, with the hot air blowing through her long coat. We say that she's dreaming of being back on the boat again and wishing for summer to come!
