Cat took a dive!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Must of thought himself a "catfish" ! :D

My gf got a cat a year back, his name's Cash, well when he was young he was very interested in my fish. So one day I sat one of our dining room chairs about a foot and a half from the tank, and set him on it. Well, his eagerness to get the fish eventually got the better of him, he crouched down and started shaking his rear from side to side....then just leaped right into the side of the tank! I haven't laughed so hard in years!

Fast forward a few months, I bought my g/f a red Betta for mothers day, she had him in a large goldfish bowl sitting on her nightstand. She told me that she got woke up in the middle of the night from getting splashed in the face with water. Said she gets up to the cat with one of his entire front legs (shoulder deep) in the tank trying to grab the fish. The Betta is now in a 16H with a lid!

Ms. Sue? First time I've seen you on here.

Anywho, my fiance's can just sits and stares at all of the fish. I keep the tank well covered so that it cannot get any kidnapping attempts going?

Just finished doing a w/c for my Dobisi. We have a crazy cat name 'Dice' he's black and white rescue that just LOVES to jump on top of my tanks and sit and look pretty. Well I had the hood off the Dobisi tank and out of nowhere suddenly Dice is head first in the tank. I was in shock, I went to grab him (was like in slow motion) and I couldn't grip him because he was submerged. So I was holding him under the water trying to grab him (one-handed mind you still spyhoning the tank at the same time). Some how I flipped him backwards and out of the tank. He scampered away soaking wet!!

Lessons learned:

Me- be prepared for anything when doing a w/c

Dice- don't jump on top of the tanks anymore

Never a dull moment I tell ya!

Ha Ha! May your cat needs a life vest.:)

Actually, I don't think there is such a thing as a cat life vest. My poor cat has to wear a dog vest.

Actually, she only wears the life vest when wakeboarding or wakesurfing. She's a great swimmer and doesn't need one when just swimming around.

oscars IMO are so brave/manly he wont run away from nothin. i wish i was more like him

I had a cat named oscar! was the most savage thing on earth, this cat ate dogs 8 times the size of it for breakfast. it bit me on the face, hahahaha. I can't remember it because we had it when I was an infant (main reason why we had to put him down). dogs ran from this cat... poor dad, he was so cut when he had to put it down, he loved it (because if you messed with you were going down )

Hey Pacu Mom- does your cat really like wakeboarding? She looks a little mad. My cats will play in the water left in the tub but won't step in- don't like their feet totally submerged. I have always dreamed of finding a cat that will go in a raft with me on whitewater (I'm a guide and have watched others take their dogs down the river)

She's gone wakeboarding a couple of times with my husband. I don't think she really liked it, so she has "retired" from wakeboarding. My husband, however, would like for her to be a wake surfing cat. Here is our first attempt.

I was driving the boat, so my stepson was manning my camera. He did not know it was on video mode and recording, so a lot of this clip is of the upholstry. My son-in-law, Francois, provides great commentary though.

First Try

Farah jumps ship

Since Steve wasn't actually surfing yet (without the rope), he will have to try again next year. He says he'll put her between his feet so she won't jump off.:)

Farah is the third silver persian that I have had. The other two cats spent their entire lives waiting for me to come home. When we got this Farah (the others were also named Farah) we determined to take her everywhere with us. She is a good little boater. However, with her long hair she is always very hot, and in 110+ weather she becomes very lethargic. She has to be dipped in the water to cool off. It is kinder to take her out and let her swim back to the boat than to dunk her.

She doesn't like to be put on the board, and she has so much confidence in her swimming, that she will slip off into the water to swim back to the boat. She has gone more places and experienced more things than most cats.

In the winter, she sits/lays in front of our monitor heater, with the hot air blowing through her long coat. We say that she's dreaming of being back on the boat again and wishing for summer to come!
