I have an eel I need to relocate, however this poses a problem. I do not want to pull up all of my plants and such so I can net this guy. Is there a trick to nabbing these little guys quickly? Should I scoop him up with a net full of sand when he buries himself?

They are a pain to catch IMO. You could try to make a minnow trap like thing out of a 2 liter soda bottle. Then bait it with his favorite food and then pull out the entire trap. That would probably be easier if you dont need to get him out of the tank right away.

What kind of eel?

what kind?

Peacock eel. I would bait him, but the little fink isn't eating. I want to isolate him and try to get him eating on his own.

mine is easy to catch cause he lives in pvc piping. so all i have to do is close one end of the pipe and lift him out lol

I'm positive it won't be able to resist frozen bloodworms. That's all mine ever ate.

And I'm positive it will! I'm serious, this little %$@* won't eat! I use beefheart, bloodworms, live red wigglers (cut to bite size bits) and it still refuses. I haven't seen more than the very tip of its nose for the last 2 weeks. It's been buried in the same spot!

I used a large clear plastic bag fill it and sank it on one end of tank then chased him into the bag and scooped it up. Try frozin mysis that is all mine will eat nothin else
