Catching Wild Fish

There some stores in south florida that carry them occasionally, such as Beverley's Pet Center, but there's plenty of Florida people on here that would be a much better way to get your fish from

Beverly's has them, big als in ft lauderdale, great barrier reef in boca raton, I live in Palm beach county as well and the best way is to go down a little south and catch some babies for raising up. What are your plans for a tank?

Any "EXOTIC" species caught in Florida, there are no bag limits. The only EXOTIC SPECIES that you CANNOT transport live is Tiliapia. They must be dead or no ice no bag limits. I was netting yesterday By I75 and Griffin. Salvini, Tilapia, Mayans out the ying yang, Mollies, some pencil fish looking fish and a small jag. There were a few cichlids I wasnt sure on but lost too much of the light to take a picture. Gar were around also but netting scared them off. You can go fishing and netting in different canals down here and stock a pretty nice tank. Weird though havnt seen any wild Oscars yet...

bag limit? y can't you just say that you bought these large pbass from a friend :)

once you get them to your aquarium, sure. but while you're out on the boat, I advise that you follow the law.

there are bag limits on PBass. they were intentionally introduced to make gamefishing in FL more attractive, and to help control populations of other invasive species.

read this whole thread. I quoted the law (from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) directly.
