Catching Wild Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:nilly:Blue Tiliapia only. All others require either a commercial liscense or the fish to be dead or on ice. Since I havnt seen or caught a blue and the others I can catch almost as much as Mayans I didnt bother to mention it. As for PBass someone already mentioned them and I ommitted that as well...:headbang2

there are bag limits on PBass. they were intentionally introduced to make gamefishing in FL more attractive, and to help control populations of other invasive species.

read this whole thread. I quoted the law (from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) directly.

Read the reply thats why I didnt bother REPEATING the information.:nilly:

Okay. Earlier you were disagreeing with it, now you're saying you didn't bother repeating it. I'm confused.

i catch tons of blues,as do others
just cus you cant catch one doesnt mean you shouldnt talk about them
:grinno:
you said tilaps, that sounds like all tilaps
:D
also you said "any" exotic caught in fl no bag limit
not any exotic other then pbass
;)
guess you just gotta word your replies a lil different lol
:D

I wanna catch some Os. I wonder if they look like LFS Os, or if they've completely gone ferrel and look more like wild-caught Amazon Os. If you catch exotic species in wild FL waters, would they be considered F0? their bloodline comes from hatchery raised aquarium stock, but most have been wild since hurricane Andrew, in 1992(?).

I guess I should though I took the other post as already stated but my wording was wrong even though my intent wasnt. Ill leave it at that:)

I dont think I would transport any Tilaps though. Not worth the hassle if pulled over or walked up on. Enough interesting cichlids out there than them anyways. BTW thanks for the netting threads. I am hooked. Finally figured it out with the pole net.:headbang2

Depends, I have a picture from the mid 80s of a fish that we didnt know what it was that my dad caught. I was looking through old pictures and was like Damn thats an oscar. It was almost a mix of LFS vs. native wild.

What is F0?

F0 is a wild caught fish. F1 is first generation bred in an aquarium, F2 is second generation...

F0 is wild caught I'm not sure about introduced species but I'd assume and introduced species would be along the lines of F1...

lol what he said^.
