I asked for ID on my last thread but it was getting out of control with side discussions.

This was at my LFS yesterday about 4". Doesn't look like any TSN I've ever seen but tbtb told me he thinks it is, and I take his word on a lot of these cats.

anyways is it a TSN? I've heard others say firewood catfish and a few said sorubim sp.

whatever it is (about 90% this answer will be no) could I grow it out in my 75 until fall 2015 when it could go in a 180, or am I dealing with a TSN (think I am) and it will be 10" in 3 months?

it is a regular tsn mate, they look different when small, will be 2ft in a year and then will already be too big for a 180 pal.

Would have LOVED to rescue it since they are trying to sell it saying a 55 is good for life but I guess not, also don't want them getting the idea they sell well either.

Justin, how's your Wyckii bro? Has it eaten any cichlids yet :)

looks like a lima shovelnose, not a tiger shovelnose. Tigers don't have a solid line running along their side. Look it up.

So know I've got two saying TSN (one on another thread) and two saying LIMA.

i do recall that I've never seen a TSN with such a solid line though.
i also recall there aren't brown limas.

maybe......lima x TSN!!!!! :)
