A tig or juruense will be fine with your fish. What do you mean exaggerate about their features? They will still grow larger than 5 feet. They will grow to 20" in a year, how is that an okay fish for ANYTHING under 1000 gallons?
show me a rtc that actually grew 5ft long in a home aquarium. when that day comes i'll agree with u.

ask johnptc or arapaimaguy, tlkmnd, necro. they'll give you your 5 feet. and even 3 feet is way bigger than most of us can care for. I'm an a-hole since I keep a tsn in my 300, you on the other hand actually recommends a guy who is already severly overstocked (given those fish reach adulthood) to get a freakin RTC. The same guy who wants to buy a finch just to feed his aro?

and even IF you were partially right? have you seen an RTC maxing out below 30"? his tank is 2 feet? please do explain how you got this to add up? Everyone says they will upgrade. but money and space is a constant issue.

for your question OP, I'd get some sort of bichir, maybe an endli, or ornate, looks good, will get you a good amount of money back if you decide to sell it. bichirs are always fat even if you fed 3 days ago, they always find something edable.

but if you really want a cat, go something along the lines of clarias batrachus, they eat everything. and if you are in the states try a jur or lima, tig is pretty (and) expensive.

Marbled Pim or pictus catfish are good scavenger fish. The marbled pim has nice colors and size wise would be good for the 180.

i just picked up a tiger shovelnose cat, and i love it, as far as unusual goes we dont get too many down here so it depends on ur region i guess

If you want a scavenger go for a couple of larger pims like marble or 4 line, or better yet syno. eupterus.

I'd say your full. Loose that poor tinfoil barb too. If you absolutely have to have a cat, four line or lsn are perfect.

The tinfoil will probably be moved along with the pleco. I'll probably replace the gib with a nicer pleco. But, the 180 is fully stocked with the remaining 4 fish?

I like the delhezi idea. How big do they get? Will 2 get along together?

The wolf isn't as aggressive as you might think. He mostly just hangs out in the driftwood with the 2 clown loaches that are in the tank now. Once in a while, he'll get a little "competitive at feeding time, but overall not bad. I keep him well fed, so that might keep him more calm.
