I almost experienced these charges for fishing without a liscence (THE LISCENCE WAS IN MY POCKET) I guess they wanted the liscence stappled to my forehead?
Anyway, F&G is serious they wanted to take all my gear and my vehicle.
(for having my card in my pocket and not on my forehead)

Im a firm believer in rules and regs, but jeez... And on top of all that i hadn't even caught a fish that day!

It's that way here with some conservation officers. If you have a pole in the vicinity, that's intent, and they can be real P****S if they want.
Around here they actually have more authority than state troopers.

that is a brown trout. i cant believe you fed it to your other fish. you have no idea how cool trout are to keep

Posting b4 thread lock!

All I can do is sit here and laugh at ewurm's picture input lol

 Drama, drama!

That's a baby brown trout. Please do not collect these, simply because collecting young fish from any established fish population is unethical. Collecting mature fish, if it's legal, is much better, and if possible, collect only males.

As a side note, every state fishing license should say somewhere on the license that it must be clearly displayed above the waist. Most sellers will also tell you that when you purchase the license, and will sell waterproof license protectors for under a buck that you can hang around your neck or pin to your coat. Simple.
They really do make it very clear, and as a fisherman you should take some responsibility and learn the rules. If you're going to fish, learn what license you need for the species you plan to catch, how it should be displayed, and what laws apply to each waterway. Learn about responsible waterway management, how to properly catch and release a fish, how to minimize waterway damage and eliminate invaseive species transfer. Learn how to humanely kill a fish you plan to keep. Learn how to identify each species in the waterway you plan to fish. Fishing is a privilege and we should do what we can to play by the rules and minimize our impact on the environment.
Okay, off my soapbox. Sorry.

This thread is almost a year old and this is over and done with. I don't think it's going to get locked now.

hey flaming shutter, im pretty sure that you just copied exactly what i said using more words. that was unnecessary

hey le patron - hmm no, i was confirming your answer so that the OP would see there was more than just one person saying it's a brown. i was agreeing with you.

and it's f l a r i n g s h u t t e r. i know, big words. sound it out if you need to.

anyway, this is an old thread. end of story.

Okay, off my soapbox. Sorry.

Not in Massachusetts. It just says prepare to show license along with photo identification upon request. In other words, I can keep it in my wallet.
