CB blue iggys? are they available in the usa?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are pure Lewisi in the US, and there are crosses that have a very high percentage Lewisi backround...........You don't see them because they aren't advertised, and don't need to be............The demand far exceeds supply.........98% of the crosses you see on the market have alot of Nubila in them, and they resemble a Cuban with some blue.........Not really my thing........

fair point... altho being im in the uk, rhinos are £550 sterling cheap normally around £1000 and ive never seen any blue, im not too fussy....

i agree. that is why i ended up getting my rhino iguana.

Pure Grand Cayman are around, but are cites animals. It's tough differentiate pures with some of the 98% crosses. Only way to be certain is to do a DNA test.

All Cyclura are CITIES.......CITIES 1 to be exact........But that really doesn't have anything to do with there availablility........Most pure Lewisi and Caymensis are in AZA institutions and aren't allowed to be reproduced......So you either have a bunch of solitary, un-socialized Cyclura which will kill each other if paired up, or you have animals that are grouped/paired up and any and all potential offspring are destroyed........Sad but true.....

I am aware of that, but interstate travel is prohibited with pure cayman animals I believe there are some being bred in ca and are only being sold within the state because of the cites status. Yes all of them are cites, but rhinos cubans and crosses are permitted to cross state lines.

I didn't realize there were pure lewisi for sale in the US I though all of them were in AZA institutions.

Only Caymen Bracs, and that is still a grey area because the Caymen Bracs may not even be real Bracs............As long as they aren't on the ESA, Interstate Travel is not affected.......CITIES has nothing to do with that, as we have many animals that are common in captivity that are CITIES 1, ICUN red listed, and on and on, that can travel across state lines. If it's on the ESA, it either needs to be "gifted", or sent to a CBW Permit holder if money or "value" exchanges hands.......
