to imitate there natural habitate in the wild.... in the wild they dont kno whats goin on on the outside of the water and only see whats in front of them and up abuve them... so now the only tanks ill have is teh 29 and i also have fears of tanks cracking alot now...
 
i dont know about the "right home", but id be nervous about that light falling in the water
 
All these rubbermaids with no top can lead to moisture problems in your room. Also rubbermaids aren't indestructable. With all the pressure being put on them from the water they can easily split.

Seems kinda Phobic to me...
you're doing this out of fear that the glass will eventually break?

I thought most people kept fish so they could be seen, in their habitat....
 
rubbermaids have a tendency to warp and fail when holding water. especially at such high volumes. Not break, just warp. Imagine what size of rubbermaids you'll need when your oscars get bigger! Good idea for small growouts but terrible idea for anything bigger.
