Well, that was the only choice. I am building the tank on an existing slab so I'll have to drill it to go through bottom. The other two sides of the tank are on end walls. Front face is the only one available.

I see...lack of options always sucks. Looking good otherwise.

For your sump, maybe you could add some plants above it to help make it look like a hydroponic garden?

thought I'll add a couple of pictures. More work is needed until the tank is curing. Most of the plumbing is done, except the final pieces. Waiting for a square pot to cover up the sump. Hopefully will be done in couple of weeks.

I've finished about 90% of the work. Here are latest pictures. The filteration is up and running.
For filtering I have a 36W UV filter, sponges for mechanical filteration, for bio filteration few ceramic ring bags and lots of plants. I'm trying to depend on plants for most of the filteration and see how it goes.
I have put some guppies there. Would wait a week or two longer to be on the safe side before adding my Cichla and RTG. The PH is still about 7.6, should come to 7.0 ideally.

Since this is outdoor, water change is quite easy. Drain off the sump by opening the bottom valve, put the garden hose in there to fill it. In the views from top you'll see two pipes coming in (other than the return from sump line). They are from rain gutters coming in directly. 80% of the year, that will be the water source. Water will fill in when it rains and the sump will overflow.

Have you got something covering the pond or are you relying on the clear fence to stop the fish jumping out ?
Don't underestimate the height an Arowana can jump .
Great pond by the way .
