centerpiece fish for 108gallon.

this thread went from looking for a single show fish to some random assortment of fish that shouldn't be kept in a 108g either because of size or aggression levels...... my advise is stick to your original plan of a single show fish. There are plenty of options available that would be both colorful and personable.

The issue i'm having is even a suitable dither besides silver dollars, clown loaches are cool and pretty tough, but get hefty. It will quite likely end in an oscar or jaguar(I'm so confused with size in aquariums?). I'm also looking for a nice red fish to play nice with a carpentis, besides a Texas red(aparently fairly rare to find) or a festae since they are super mean and only do great in pairs.

Can look for a super red severum if you want red.

Look into amphilophus lyonsi as well. Kind of like a trimac, but more colorful, smaller, and less aggressive. Might fit the bill with a carpinte, green terror, or I'd.

the festae seem to be favored above all else, was at the cabin so i had no internet. I know this is the wrong section but how much work would malawis be besides water quality? I figured the whole overstocked thing would keep from too much fretting over compatability.

I agree with Aqualoon on Green terrors, those can have outstanding colors,I really miss my female Green Terror, but had to give her up due to going ballistic on certain cichlids in my tank. You can go with a Cuban cichlid if you like, they have outstanding color when they grow larger.
