It's looking like my melanura have paired up as well so they're starting to show some cool behavior and intense colors. I actually just moved my heterospila into my 90 for now with my sajica and balzanii so they wouldn't get beat up by the more aggressive fish in my bigger tank. It was getting a bit crowded in there too. I'll be getting my 300 in less than a month so they will go back into that tank with all the other Vieja at that time so there's much more space for them. There will be heterospila, melanura lago peten, vieja maculicauda, Argentea, and red head synspilum in the 300. It'll be pretty awesome

Sounds very awesome, hope it works out for you! I'm kind of in the same boat actually, getting a 300 sometime early this year. Going to stock it with a harem of synspilum and my girls Queen Rose. I don't like hybrids generally speaking but it's actually a pretty cool fish.

Here's an updated video of all the fish. I moved the heterospila to the other tank with my Bella union fish and sajica since they won't get picked on like they were in the bigger tank with the other Vieja. The video shows both tanks

Nice setups bro love the argentae but now I'm leaning towards the heterospila they are cute little guys
 
Rescaped the bigger tank so will share a video tonight. Im liking the outcome of it. Seems to provide better breeding grounds as well. It seems to me that my dominant male melanura has paired up with my larger female. Displaying a lot of coloring up and courting
 
A little update video on the tanks of the central and south american growouts. I'll be getting rid of a few sajica, a balzanii, and a few melanura this weekend to open up some space and to make more room in the bigger tank for a group of Rio sarstun melanura. Getting these fish in their bigger tanks can't come soon enough but has to wait until this summer. Picking up the 300 gallon this weekend for the viejas. It'll be quite the tease to have stored in my garage until this summer haha.

 
your going to have some truly stunning fish in a couple of years, they look good even as juvis. it would be absolute torture for me having a big tank and not being able to set it up.
