Thanks.
I expected them to be shy and skittish. But they have been very outgoing so far. The algae covered rocks have been keeping them busy.

Some more pics of the Stiphodon ornatus.
They are well settled and seem very happy as there colors are vivid.
The seem to enjoy being in a loose school and no conspecific aggression has been noted so far.
The feed almost exclusively on aufwuchs regardless of what is added to the tank for other fish. They did show some interest in the large sinking algae wafers. That was for a short while and soon went back to grazing.

Since adding algae covered rocks from the stream to the tank and increases places to feed their condition has improved a lot.

I think this was the female again.

A female in all her glory on one of the river added rocks for feeding.

A male watching me watching him. They cleared those rocks of everything in 3 days.

The males have redder tails than the females. Also, the dorsal fin has elongated rays and is redder.

Wow they look stunning. Are you going to keep replacing the algae coverd rocks for them, it would be nice if the took algae wafers.

Very nice, love those gobies.
Thank you

Yes I plan to keep swapping out the rocks. I like the idea of natural food as they are all wild caught. I will add more wafers and hope they eat them too but the covered rocks should give them enough to go on.

Going on their droppings they really seem to enough the lush, bright green algae.

Some new kids on the block. They too will get their own tank sometime next year when the stiphodon are moved into their tank. There are 6 of them in the tank.
Some may already know what they are. here is the teaser pic:

Any guesses?
