So I need to get these guys in w/ my girls Larger goldfish....not w/ my dats or cichla's. Thanks guys...may explain why they arent eating much. Acclimating now.

TheRealMacdaddy....thanks for the info. They look so similar its hard to tell. Are the cirri the little feelers on the bottom of their mouth?

The cirri are on the top edge of the lower lip as can be seen on this photo courtesy of Scotcats

Here's a link to a very informative article on Chacas

May I ask where you picked up your Chacas? I lost mine last month when I went out of town and I need to find a replacement..PM me if you don't mind.

Here are my chaca's during their acclimation into another tank. These guys are hard to photograph cause they blend in so well.

My brother picked up one for me labeled cha cha...it was in 83 degree water at the shop. Im not sure which species it is..probably chaca chaca? Hmmmm....Ive got a bunch of these style cats now....pretty cool. Mcoy did you have any luck gettn some?

bump.....well he's going into the chaca tank....75-76 degrees...the cichla didnt like him at all....didnt seem too happy in there so he's goin in w/ his own kind.

I'm not sure how long we've had one...awhile, 2 months maybe....but, my chaca chaca is the LAZIEST fish I've EVER seen!! Just plop somewhere. Only seen him eat (bloodworms) a couple times, other than that, I dont know. OH, he was dying in the original tank, it was naturally at 80 degrees, being upstairs. I remember being as a last measure to save him, I put him in another tank that's always at 70 degrees (room temp), and has done MUCH better. Actually moves from one side of the tank to the other. I don't personally witness the motion tho

I dont mind the videos, but I dont like feeding live for the obvious health risks. But, he will only take live things, fish, nightcrawlers, etc. During the summer, i just feed nightcrawlers, but during the winter I have to buy fish or worms since i have no room to culture them.
