After reading about Oddball's issues and others, it just wasn't a risk I wanted to take. Especially with the turtle showing nipping from day number 1. Kind of sucked because I would save space by cohabitating with the rays, but this works better anyway. With a high veggie diet, and harder water, I don't think it would have worked well with the rays. I doubt Chahlie would be so enthused about kale if shrimp and perch were dropped in his tank multiple times daily! lol

Awesome, I saw one of these in a specialty store when I was a little kid many years ago, and have always wanted one since. I haven't seen one in person since then. Good luck with this guy
Thank you! I realize this is a lifelong commitment, and I'm all-in! So far this has been a very easy turtle. Healthy shell, active and eats well. It does have an odd sleep schedule, sometimes it will sleep for what seems like days. But then it always wakes up hungry
