Good news!

I used the guilt trip tactic! I told my mom for my brithday i wanted a 6' tank. So if my micro can last in the 90 till July ill have him in a 120 :) then hopefully the year after that ill swing for a 300. Unless i can convince her to get the 300 instead :D soooo happy!!!

Soz but probably cant wait until July :/ Your risking a stunted fish or maybe he'll get pissed off and start jumping trying to get out. But in the end its up to you :)

well i know its up to me, but im really trying to do what i can for this guy :(. It may be my first actaul aquarium, so yes I am a noob, but its not an excuse to have a fish grow up unhealthy, which is what in essence bugs me

Any chance you can make some kind of temporary ghetto pond or anything? They dont need much filtration so the cost will be low

going to need more then a 120 hes going to scare you in a 120 im not one to talk im just saying cause im dealing with large snakheads in a small tank and its epic in a 140 they test its limits.

Not really. Im in montreal, so anything outside wont work due to winter. And inside even a gheto pond would basically be like buying a new tank. Its just hard in general to get bigger tanks here. "Monster" fish are not commonly kept. I asked about anything bigger than 180, the shop i was dealing with said they can get a 265gal. Would that work?

265 is a start, but IMO no where near enough for it as it grows.
But the issue right now is that you are not upgrading till next summer.
By then the Micro will be massive, and will have out grown the current tank by lots.

Micropeltes are not suitable for home aquaria (unless you have the correct size tank of course) and are most certainly not for beginners, or ebven intermediate fish keepers.
They are expensive (feeding as an adult costs!), large and at times dangerous (to you, your other fish and the tank they are in. these guys have been know to break tanks.)
Do yourself and the fish a big favor and move it on to someone who can care for it NOW, not in 7 months time!

yeah ill vouch my 16inchers stress my glass like a mof#@&:-) r it scares the poop outa me. specialy if they get scared n dart into the glass
