Channa diplogramma

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid micropeltes and diplogramma are two seperate sp but often to be confused in ID when small as they look very similar. There's another sp these days that is more expensive than diplogramma and is a sub sp of micropeltes. When small, the horizontal lines are distorted and not straight and turn white/silver as sub adult and then full on light blue metallic as adult.

Madou Madou bro, the majestic blue is just barely the beginning.. I can't wait until the full blue coloration covers the entire body. I'll snap some size comparison photos later. This one is current somewhere between 30 to 33cm estimated. My friends tell me they color up fully by 40-45cm.

Damn, I seriously can't wait. Mine are aproximatively 20ish, and they look like adult micros in their colors and pattern, but under white light, the blue comes out.

Always good to have something to look forward to, keep us updated! ;)

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid They have been thought to be a variety of micropeltes if I am not mistaken. They are a very different species however, in color, and most importantly size.

Speaking of size, think we could get a picture next to a ruler or your hand or a banana (banana for scale xD)? ;)

Very unfortunate that the diplo has passed away after I moved her into another community tank with a large Armatus that was too aggressive.... :( almost reached exactly two foot when she past away... quite girthy..

How old was she at 2' pal? I have a baby 4"er atm.
