hi mate your correct , they are found in the foothill streams that are fed from the himalayas , they are from the same genral area as pulchra , in the wet season in obviously rains a lot , the streams are high full of minrals ect , this is exagerated by the snow melting on the himalayas , but in the dry season it is very dry , snow stops melting high up and there is near 0 rainfall ,so very quickly the streams dry up , this leaves pools of water where the fish are trapped , it is in theese pools the fish are collected, they are useally hid under a stone 1 stone 1fish ,never two . at this time ph levels drop allong with oxegen levels ect , we mimic this in the aquarium by fitting a tunze or sieo pump at the surface during winter months and then leaving the surface totally still during summer and adding oak or almond leaves to the water
at 24deg it should be ok , just make sure there is no fish that even look like they might fit in his mouth , this is a big cause of snakehead death ,choking on food that they cannot swallow, they are can be very aggressive and unprodictable fish ornatipinis but with out doubt one of the best looking
good luck with it
cheers col
