grilling should not be rushed. one must become one with the fire AND the meat before the magic can happen. get married and your grill takes longer and gets farther from the house! heck i got a smoker, takes at least 2 hrs to get ready 8 hrs to cook, she stays away.:ROFL: dont tell her please!:cry:

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: me too me too:headbang2

Hey midnight, you need to make the trek up to my place one day and let me throw a brisket on the grill for about 8 hours. You'll go home and smack your stupid gas p.o.s. for depriving you of flavor all this time.

I have a Char-Griller Super Pro with the optional firebox.

That is what my pops has, along WITH a gas grill. But a smoker is the only way to go...low and slow. Hell come on rally even Hank Hill has a damn gas grill and he gets his eat on.

This so belongs in that "Out of Context" thread that was going! :ROFL:

If the gas was so great, why do you gassers have to add a burning solid (chips, etc) to make your food taste good? :screwy: CHARCOAL! :D
i burn only propane,i like the flavor of my food,i dont cover it with wood or coal taste :D

charcoal is the way to go but i see why people use propane
but its a shame
and charcoal is more american as americans before the finding of oil used wood to cook their food
and henry ford created charcoal blocks and isnt he really american!

I forgot about the Ford/Charcoal connection!

About 90% of U.S. propane is domestically produced.
The United States imports about 10% of the propane consumed each year with about 7% of that coming from Canada via pipeline and rail. The remaining 3% of imported propane comes to the United States from other sources via ocean transport.

you dont know if it was american or overseas gas they used to make it ;)

even if they used overseas gas to produce it here
i guess that means my ford pickup isnt american cus my gas probably came from overseas too right?
i had to use their gas to produce ford horsepower so i guess i got imported horsepower in my ford making it "not american"
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

U.S. Propane Origins:

Natural Gas - 46%, 18% imported
Crude Oil - 44%, 58% imported
Imported Directly - 10%

Works out to about 44% of foreign origin. The price of propane has nearly doubled in the last year. Charcoal (all-american) hasn't changed at all.

My Weber was built in Palantine, IL :)

Propane is awesome. It heats my water, lights my range top and serves as the auxiliary heat for my house. I just don't grill with it...
